Job Description

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the daily logistics operations of the company, including transportation, warehousing, distribution, and customer service. The role ensures efficient movement of goods, cost control, regulatory compliance, and high service levels across all logistics activities.


Key Responsibilities

    • Plan, coordinate, and oversee transportation, delivery, and distribution operations.

    • Manage fleet operations including scheduling, routing, and dispatch.

    • Monitor operational performance and implement improvements to increase efficiency.

    • Oversee vehicle utilization, maintenance schedules, and fuel management.

    • Supervise warehouse operations including receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods.

    • Ensure proper inventory management and stock control systems are in place.

    • Supervise and manage drivers, warehouse staff, and administrative personnel.

    • Recruit, train, and evaluate staff performance.

    • Develop work schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels.

    • Maintain strong relationships with clients and ensure service expectations are met.

    • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and service issues professionally.

    • Monitor service delivery and implement improvements based on feedback.

    • Ensure compliance with local transportation laws and regulations in Guyana.

    • Ensure drivers comply with road safety regulations and company policies.

    • Enforce workplace health and safety standards.

    • Maintain proper documentation for shipments, vehicles, and regulatory requirements.

    • Prepare regular reports on operational performance and productivity.

    • Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and fleet usage.

    • Tracking systems to monitor operations.


Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

    • Minimum of 3–6 years’ experience in logistics or supply chain operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

    • Experience managing fleets, warehouses, and distribution networks.
