Hauler Truck Driver / Side Loader Operator

Job Summary

A2Z Logistics is seeking a skilled and reliable Hauler Truck Driver & Side Loader Operator to join our growing fleet. You will be responsible for transporting heavy containers and goods safely across Guyana, utilizing specialized side-loading equipment to load and unload cargo independently. This role requires a combination of expert driving ability, technical machine operation, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

--Driving & Transport: Safely operate heavy-duty haulers and prime movers to transport 20ft and 40ft containers to various sites across Guyana.

--Side Loader Operation: Expertly operate hydraulic side-lifting equipment to load, unload, and stack containers directly from/to the ground or other trailers.

--Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct daily mechanical checks (oil, brakes, tires, hydraulics) and report any defects to the maintenance team immediately.

--Cargo Securing: Ensure all loads are properly latched, balanced, and secured according to safety standards before transit.

--Logistics Coordination: Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery notes, and fuel records. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding ETAs and site conditions.

--Compliance: Adhere strictly to Guyana’s traffic laws, weight limits, and A2Z Logistics' internal safety protocols.

Qualifications & Skills

--Licensing: Valid Guyana Driver’s License (Classes: Lorry/Heavy Duty & Articulated Vehicles).

--Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience driving heavy-haul trucks. Specific experience with Side Loaders (Hammerlifts/Swinglifts) is highly preferred.

--Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of hydraulic systems and heavy vehicle mechanics.

--Physical Fitness: Ability to work long hours, handle outdoor conditions, and perform manual tasks associated with securing cargo.

--Reliability: A clean driving record and a reputation for punctuality and professional conduct.

Working Conditions

--Willingness to travel long distances, including transit on the East Bank, East Coast, and potential interior routes.

--Availability for occasional weekend or night shifts depending on vessel schedules and client demands.
